http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ For Army service records, write to: There have been numerous requests for information about veterans of the Cameronians, and of other regiments from WWI and WWII. We do not have access to information regarding war records, and in only a few cases are we even able to know if a certain individual served with a specific regiment in WWI or WWII. The National Archives is the best place to start looking. There were many souls who served in WWI, but during 1940, the bombing of the London Blitz destroyed large portions of these records. This makes it difficult to research someone's records. As much as we hope to educate the public about those who served, we do not have any information regarding to specific individuals and their service. This is information only available from the Ministry of Defence. The The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is a very thorough site and is to be recommended to anyone searching for information about a lost loved one from the British Army.
